Un particolare tipo di insalata che come tutte le lattughe fa parte della famiglia delle Asteraceae. A livello alimentare \u00e8 particolarmente interessante il gambo (o torso) che \u00e8 da spellare (con un coltello o un pelapatate) fino al cuore tenero, poi lo si pu\u00f2 gustare crudo o cotto, come fosse un asparago.
